Nature, landscape & Fine Art Ellen is known as a Minnesota Photographer and noted for her many images taken in and around the Midwest, Arrowhead region & the Twin City pockets of natural areas. Ellen describes the Twin City metro region as a vast treasure trove of photographic opportunity; "When you stop to think that almost the entire metro area is populated around two major river valleys; the Mississippi and Minnesota--both offer miles and pockets of beautiful landscape and nature areas --not to mention the lakes and creeks surrounding it." "Besides the first visual impact, each scene I spend time at and photograph offers it's own unique characteristics and at times fantasy enchantment--capturing the essence and feel of that visual experience is truly the prize." In the past five years,Ellen has exhibited at venues such as the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Exhibit in 2005 and again in 2008. Ellen offers her photographs at Juried fine art fairs and shows in and around the Twin City region such as The Stillwater Fine Art and Jazz Festival, Owatonna Festival of the Arts, Loring Park Art Fair in Minneapolis, Art on the Lake in Excelsior and Phipps Center for the Arts Fine Art show in Hudson, WI. She has achieved local and regional awards for her photographs and her photos have been used in national marketing campaigns. Ellen’s first magazine publication featured the image “Superior Sky” and article on the Arrowhead of Minnesota in the March 2008 news stand issue of “Outdoor Photographer” magazine. Ellen is a member of the Crosstown Camera Club. |
